How to paint a children's room?

When we think about how we should make our child's room, the colours that dominate it are one of the most important decisions that we have to make. Often, unfortunately, we are guided by stereotypes that impose certain solutions on us. One of many such cases is the conviction that the blue colour can only be used in the boy's room.

This is not true, however, as it will also work in the girl's room. It is therefore worth considering this possibility, because the end result will really surprise us positively.

Colour blue in the child's room

Children's room is a very important place for our little one, so we have to apply ourselves to his device. After all, it is a room where our child will rest, play and learn. It is often difficult for us to choose the colour of the walls. However, in this case we should take into account the fact that colours may affect our mood. Therefore, blue can be a good choice, which has a relaxing and calming effect on the person. Not without reason, blue, or light blue, is often used to treat anxiety. In addition, this color supports creative work and increases concentration, making it an ideal choice for a child's room, and not only for the boy.

At the same time, however, we must not exaggerate with too much blue in one room. Its excess may have a less desirable effect, causing fatigue, carelessness or even laziness. However, if we use this colour in combination with other colours, it may be one of the best choices when it comes to the colour of the walls in the child's room.

Children's room decoration

When thinking about changing the interior design of the room of a slightly older child, we must remember that he or she should also like it. His ideas and tastes must therefore be taken into account. Of course, they will not always agree with our own vision, but it is necessary to compromise so that our consolation feels really good in its own room. It is worthwhile to establish with the child what color or fairy tale character will become the leading theme in it.

Choose your favourite shade of blue

If you choose a light blue shade to paint the walls in your room, you can easily optically enlarge the room. Since blue is part of the cold colour palette, it can affect your child by calming them down.

When deciding on a stronger shade of this colour, we must remember that it will dominate. Therefore, it is worth considering using it only on one of the walls.

Blue can be combined with beige, grey or pastel colours such as pink, mint or yellow. It also looks great composed with wooden elements.
